Tempered glass sheets and discs
Tempered glass is obtained with strong heating (it must be brought to over 600 °C) and then violent cooling with jets of cold air, this causes a thermal shock in the molecular composition improving its mechanical resistance and therefore excellent resistance to external stress. In the event of breakage, the tempered sheet is reduced to small, non-sharp fragments, which is why it is called safety glass
Main uses:
- In the mechanical industry: protection for machinery or low pressure visual indicators
- In the field of lighting: shielding for lamps that do not exceed 150 °C
- In the furniture sector: shelves for bathrooms, kitchens and wardrobes
